Here’s a helpful list of dos and don’ts to make sure you don’t miss out on any of the basic laundry rule
There are some essential rules to follow if you want your clothes to keep the shine and shape of the first days. Obviously, among them, avoid wearing white at the next wine tasting and leave the closet your beautiful silk blouse when you coax your hairball. But more than that, it's important to wash your things properly. It's no secret that anything can tilt during a wash cycle.
#Don’t overload the machine
Avoid cramming all your clothes into the machine. Your clothes might not get washed properly, even if you save time on doing a load. The sorting we recommend above should help with this too.
#Don’t leave things in your pockets
And as you empty them, don’t forget to pull up zippers, and close any snaps, hooks, and Velcro. Buttons, on the other hands, should remain unfastened to avoid stressing them.
#Don’t abuse your dryer
The more clothes you put in the dryer, the longer they will take to dry. So you don’t save any time if you do this.
#Make bad associations
It is not enough to wash by color, it should also classify the linen by subject. Polar fleeces, for example, need to be cleaned separately because they require a gentle cycle. Also, you should never wash bath towels and clothes together.
#Closed zips, open buttons
To be sure not to spoil the other clothes, you should always close the zippers. It will also not damage it, making opening and closing more difficult. Conversely, the buttons should always remain detached or they may cling to other clothes.
#Elastic materials
It is best not to machine them, but rather to wash them by hand (for example: sportswear, swimsuits ...) in cold water.
#Don’t leave your clothes in the machine or dryer
Remove the clothes from the machine or dryer as soon as the cycle is complete. If you leave clothes in the machine for long, colors of clothes might transfer to each other. The damp environment can also become a breeding ground for mold spores and bacteria. If left for too long in the dryer, they might end up being too wrinkly.
#Duvets and cushions
If you have a duvet that you wash in the machine, you should run it a second time without a product. The duvets and cushions being thick, the laundry does not always rinse very well after a single cycle.
